  • Ars Medica
    ARS MEDICA is a biannual literary journal, started in 2004, that explores the interface between the arts and healing, and examines what makes medicine an art. It remains the only medical literary journal in Canada and allows a place for dialogue, meaning-making, and the representation of experiences of the body, health, wellness, and encounters with the medical system.

  • The Bellevue Literary Review - A journal of humanity and human experience

    Bellevue Hospital, the oldest public hospital in the United States, has been witness to nearly 270 years of human drama.

    In this tradition, the Bellevue Literary Review, a forum for illuminating humanity and human

    experience was created. The BLR is published by the Department of Medicine at NYU Langone Medical Center.

  • Blood and Thunder: Musings on the Art of Medicine
    An arts journal published by the University of Oklahoma College of Medicine. Started by a group of first year medical students in 2001, the goal and purpose of the journal is to enhance the education of healthcare professionals through the exploration of art and to serve the community as a means for artistic expression.
  • Chicago Literary Club - Index of papers online
    The Club is a voluntary association of men and women interested in writing original essays on topics of their own choosing and in listening to other members present their research.  Papers can be viewed online by subject including several papers on medical history, art history, literature.
  • Connective Tissue
    A literary and visual arts journal published annually by the University of Texas Health Science Center of San Antonio's School of Medicine.

  • Humane Medicine
    Humane Medicine is an online journal on the Art & Science of Medicine.  Their mission is to facilitate dialogue and the exchange of ideas regarding the spiritual, psychological and social basis of human well-being and to explore the interrelatedness of mind, body and spirit.
  • International Journal of Healthcare and Humanities
    Published twice a year by the Penn State College of Medicine Department of Humanities, The International Journal of Healthcare & Humanities publishes original articles, essays, poetry, creative writing, photography and original artwork. The Journal specifically encourages work which examines the interface of healthcare and the humanities from a global perspective.
  • Journal of Medical Humanities
    The Journal of Medical Humanities publishes original papers reflecting its broad perspective on interdisciplinary studies of medicine and medical education. Research findings emerge from three areas of investigation: medical humanities, cultural studies, and pedagogy.

    Lifelines is a publication of a the Dartmouth Medical School. It is a literary journal that seeks to weave a literary tapestry offering the much-needed creative outlet for health-care providers and patients alike.

  • P&S: Medicine, Artistically Speaking
    P&S is published three times a year for alumni, faculty, students, and other supporters of the College of Physicians & Surgeons of Columbia University.
  • The Yale Journal for Humanities in Medicine
    addresses the broad area of humanities in medicine. It is an online journal of poetry, stories and book reviews written by nursing students, medical students and health care providers.
